Fire crews spent hours battling a fire along Lake Guntersville early Saturday morning.
According to the Guntersville Fire Department, the fire started near The Pointe at Val Monte, but did not damage the restaurant.
Crews got called to the scene at 12:30 a.m. and described the fire as being "pretty involved" when they arrived.
Authorities at the marina said 29 boat slips were destroyed in the fire. According to EMA officials, between 15 and 25 boats were also destroyed. They said it took about five hours to put out the fire, but no one was injured.
A fire watch was still in place as of 8:30 a.m. to watch for gas or oil on top of the water.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
