A boat in Statter Harbor caught fire, the boat was sunk, and its resident is now displaced.
The 40 foot Commodore boat was being used as a home and the resident is now displaced, according to the Red Cross.  The man  was sent to Bartlett Regional hospital to be checked out with reports of smoke inhalation.
Incident commander Chad Cameron with CCFR says the boat was fiberglass; crews were able to extinguish the flames, but the boat sank, nonetheless.
"Armand - who works as a mechanic at the auto marine - was out walking his dog, He saw flames, ran down, and knocked on the boat, when he heard someone inside yelling, "Help!" He busted out the window and helped the man out, and they waited on fire crews to show up."
Representatives of Capital City Fire Rescue, Juneau Police Department, and Red Cross were all on scene to assist.

The private yacht was tethered to a dock in the 600 block of 14th Avenue South, and the call came in at 12:44 p.m., authorities said.

The vessel was "partially burned" on the port side, and flames scorched the boat's fiberglass exterior from the steps of the rear dive platform up to the cabin area, Naples Fire Chief Pete DiMaria said.

"It's still smoldering a little bit," he said. "But we got it under control for sure."
No one was on board, and there were no injuries, DiMaria said.

Naples police and fire crews and the Collier County Sheriff's Office responded to the blaze.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation Tuesday.

A boat is now on the bottom of Lost Creek Lake. It sunk Saturday after catching fire and the whole thing was caught on camera.

In the video the boat is already in flames and a jet ski is trying to put the fire out, but according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, a man was attempting to start his motor when the fire started.

He had fire extinguishers and tried to put it out, but after it appeared to be out it re-ignited.

That’s when he jumped in the water and pulled it away from the other boats.

“Then Lost Creek Marina helped him tow it out away from everything and it was out on the water fully engulfed… and then it sank,” Deputy Terrazas said.

Nobody was injured, but the sheriff’s office wants to remind all boaters to have a plan, know where your fire extinguisher is. and make it easily accessible.

Marquette County Sheriff with Negaunee Township Fire Department were dispatched to a boat fire on the Dead River Basin in Negaunee Township Thursday night.

When rescue arrived the boat was fully engulfed but all occupants had already been safely transferred to a second watercraft and taken to shore.

Sheriff's Marine Division transported fire department personnel to the scene who then extinguished the fire.

The 19 foot Seadoo watercraft had blown to shore of an unnamed island west of the boat launch.

The owner Ryan Hammack, 28, of Marquette said he and three passengers had just launched the boat when he noticed smoke coming from the instrument panel and engine compartment. A fire extinguisher was used with no success. A passerby in another boat was flagged down and a second fire extinguisher was used with no results. All parties in Hammack's boat were evacuated by the passerby and taken to shore.

No one was injured at the scene.

Arrangements are being made to remove the remainder of the boat by the owner.

Man suffers 'substantial burns' in New Hamburg boat fire: Fire Chief - New Hamburg, NY

6/15/2017

A man suffered “substantial first and second degree burns” as a result of a boat fire at White’s Hudson River Marina in New Hamburg Thursday morning, according to Fire Chief Jeff Renihan.

The cause of the blaze is unknown at this time.

The fire, which was reported at around 10:13 a.m., involved a cabin boat stationed along the dock. When officers arrived, the boat was engulfed in flames as the man lay on the dock, and firefighters tended to the burnt individual first.

That person was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center.

Firefighters used a fire boat to get to the fire, Renihan said, and they extinguished it within about a half-hour. The scene was clear by 1:30 p.m.

The boat is likely a “total loss,” he said, noting that the marina, however, didn’t sustain any damage.

The investigation into the fire is ongoing.

Boat catches fire in the Middle Keys - Middle Keys, FL

A boat caught fire in the Middle Keys early Thursday morning, sending smoke upward as far as the eyes could see.

It was reported about 8:30 a.m. and was on the oceanside between 20th Street and the Hyatt Place Faro Blanco Resort & Yacht Club. No one was aboard so there were no injuries.

It’s the second boat fire in Marathon in a week and a half. On June 5, the 49-foot Miss Budweiser went up in flames off Boot Key on the bayside, near the Seven Mile Bridge.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers Matt Rubenstein and Clayton Wagner and Capt. David Dipre responded to Thursday’s fire, along with crews from U.S. Coast Guard Station Marathon, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and Marathon Fire Rescue.

The Coast Guard “secured their pumps and began to douse the flames with water,” FWC Officer Bobby Dube said. The “FWC was able to approach the vessel’s bow, free the vessel from the mooring and move it to the seawall, where the Marathon Fire Department could more effectively extinguish the fire.”

Rubenstein is conducting the investigation to attempt to determine the vessel ownership and cause of the fire.

Four escape boat fire on Lake LBJ in Cottonwood Shores - Cottonwood Shores, TX

6/13/2017

Authorities are investigating the cause of a boat fire on Lake LBJ near a marina where at least four occupants dove into the water and escaped the blaze with non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident happened about 2 p.m. June 9 off the shore from LBJ Yacht Club and Marina, 200 Wirtz Dam Road, where the recreational vessel initially launched.

“They were leaving that area and got away from the marina a little ways, and (the boat) caught fire,” Horseshoe Bay Fire Chief Joe Morris said. “Something that is great is bystanders picked up the occupants out of the water and returned them to the marina for first aid.”

A Horseshoe Bay fire crew used a police boat to move the watercraft to a spot where they could call on other crews to douse the blaze.

“It was out in the middle of the lake,” Morris said. “We took the police boat and went out there and towed it to the north side of the lake.”

Crews from the Marble Falls Volunteer Fire Department and Granite Shoals Fire Rescue doused the fire in an area known as Sunset Point in Granite Shoals.

“In order to extinguish it, we had to tow it to shore. It took on water. The hull started separating, and it sunk,” Morris said.

Officials made the effort to extinguish the fire to mitigate environmental issues.

“All the fuel and oil, we try not to contaminate the lake,” Morris said.

Participating agencies included the Lower Colorado River Authority and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

“It’s not suspicious at all,” Morris added.
