The call originally came in to the Niceville Fire Department as a brush fire, according to Assistant Chief Tony Lohrman. When firefighters arrived a 32-foot boat was fully involved.
There were no passengers aboard at the time and no one has claimed ownership of the boat.
As firefighters were battling the fire, wind may have spread it to a nearby dock, according to Lohrman.
He said the boat was a total loss and the dock sustained about $5,000 worth of damage.
East Niceville Fire District assisted in fighting the fire and the State Fire Marshall is investigating.
