Anne Arundel firefighters responded to a Tracys Landing marina Wednesday afternoon after a boat caught fire, a department spokesman said.
Firefighters responded to the Herrington Harbor North marina at 389 Deale Road around 2:40 p.m. Upon arrival they discovered a 30-foot Sea Ray Sundancer fully involved with flames, Capt. Russ Davies, a fire department spokesman said.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze in about 15 minutes. The fire is estimated to have caused some $50,000 in damage to the boat, Davies said.
Investigators have attributed the blaze to a mechanical malfunction involving the boat's engine.
No one was injured.
