A boat caught fire and burned Saturday along Lake Texoma.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirms that at approximately 3:45 p.m. Aug. 25 they were notified of a boat on fire off the shore of Treasure Island on Lake Texoma.
The owner of the boat, a Texas man, told authorities that he had anchored the 45-foot boat and was in the cab getting a drink when he noticed smoke inside the cabin. The man disconnected the boat's batteries and still noticed the smoke.
When the man looked in the forward compartment of the vessel, he noticed it was fully engulfed in flames. Then man then abandoned the vessel and called authorities.
The fire on the boat was put out and the vessel was beached. It will later be towed. The incident is still under investigation.
