A boat was destroyed by fire on Lake George on Friday afternoon, and the occupants were able to escape the burning vessel by jumping into the water.
The boat caught fire around 2:30 p.m. near Diamond Island.
Lake George Park Commission and Warren County Sheriff’s Office boat patrols responded to calls for help, and were able to get the boat’s occupants out of the water.
The Lake George and Bolton fire departments responded to put the fire out, using a firefighting boat.
The cause of the fire was unclear later Friday afternoon.
