A boat fire in Dorchester County caused thousands of dollars in damages.
Just before 5 a.m. on Tuesday February 5, 2019, a neighbor discovered the fire on the 2500 block of Hoopers Island Road.
Hoopers Island Fire Department took about an house to control the fire on the 35-foot work boat.
The fire started in the interior cabin, ultimately damaging an estimated $40,500 of loss.
The fire remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Salisbury Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal at (410) 713-3780.
