A fire outside of Tarpon Point Marina on Thursday night now leaves the charred remains of a boat sitting on a sand bar.
Cape Coral police got the call about the fire around 7 p.m.
FWC said three people were on the boat when a fire broke out in the engine compartment, forcing them to abandon ship and swim for safety.
