No injuries were reported.
In a prepared statement, Milford Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Anthony Fabrizi said several people called 911 about 11:30 a.m to report smoke coming from an unoccupied vessel docked at the Oyster Landing Marina on Dock Road
“Firefighting units including Milford’s Marine 1 fire boat quickly arrived on scene and found active fire and black smoke coming from the 37’ Maxum cabin cruiser,” Fabrizi said.
“Firefighters aboard Marine 1 attacked the blaze from Milford Harbor while ground based units assisted with hose lines,” Fabrizi said. “The fire was brought under control in less than 10 minutes.”
The boat sustained heat and smoke damage in the blaze, but other boats nearby were spared, Fabrizi said.
The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire. The boat was taken out of the water and towed to Milford Boat Works
