A fire ripped through Charlestown Marina late Monday afternoon, damaging four boats and parts of the dock, fire officials reported.
Firefighters responded to Dock A of Charlestown Marina shortly before 4 p.m. on Monday. Charlestown Fire Company, led by Chief Gary Bott, was first on the scene and reported that one boat was well-involved when they arrived, said Richard Brooks, director of the Cecil County Department of Emergency Services.
"The fire quickly spread to the other boats," Brooks said.
The Community Fire Company of Perryville, Water Witch Volunteer Fire Company and North East Volunteer Fire Company also responded to the scene and used a combination of foam and water to put out the fire, Brooks said.
