Annapolis, Anne Arundel and Naval Academy firefighters responded shortly after midnight to the 600 block of Chester Avenue to reports that a vessel was on fire. A team of 25 firefighters from different agencies were able to get the fire under control within 30 minutes, said Annapolis Fire Battalion Chief John Ortlieb.
A cost estimate for damage done to the site of the fire — and neighboring boats that were also damaged — was unavailable Saturday, officials said, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The boat’s resident was able to get off the boat before the fire spread, Ortlieb said. No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.
