HFD said crews were called out around 10:40 a.m. Six units staffed with 23 personnel responded to the fire to find smoke coming out of the wheelhouse of the 35-foot fishing vessel which was moored to the dock.
As firefighters worked to gain control of the fire, six crewmembers including the boat’s Captain were safely moved to the dock.
“The fire attack continued and focused on the wheelhouse and engine room area to ensure the fire did not spread to any onboard auxiliary fuel supply sources,” HFD said.
Four more units with 16 HFD personnel members were called to assist due to the location of the fire. A U.S. Coast Guard boat also arrived to support HFD’s efforts.
The fire was brought under control shortly after 11 a.m.
No one was injured and a cause is under investigation.
