A tugboat fire temporarily closed portions of La. 1 south of Golden Meadow today, Port Authority officials said.
Around 9:45 a.m. fire crews from Lafourche Fire District 3 began running a hose across the highway to battle the blaze, which occurred on a 65-foot tugboat, authorities said.
The fire was contained to the vessel’s galley area and was quickly extinguished, officials said.
No injuries were reported.
