A 70-year-old man suffered second degree burns on 20 percent of his body following a flash fire while aboard a boat Saturday afternoon near Windsor Beach, reported Lake Havasu City Fire Department Battalion Chief James Whitt.
Whitt said the man was in stable condition and transported to the hospital.
According to Whitt, the boat was launching and had just passed a buoy line when the “quick flash fire” occurred around 12 p.m.
He said it may have been caused by fumeS build-up inside the engine compartment.
There was no damage to the boat, he added.
