An Ida Township man suffered burns on his leg when his boat caught fire at the Hoffman Memorial Access site in Bolles Harbor last week.
The boat was already fully engulfed when Monroe Township volunteer firefighters arrived to put out the fire, a deputy’s report of the incident said.
The operator was treated at the scene for his injury and the boat was towed away from the shore by Tow Boat U.S.
It was determined the engine fire started when engine lines were not flushed properly, causing the engine to ignite, the report said.
