The cause of the blaze is unknown at this time.
The fire, which was reported at around 10:13 a.m., involved a cabin boat stationed along the dock. When officers arrived, the boat was engulfed in flames as the man lay on the dock, and firefighters tended to the burnt individual first.
That person was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center.
Firefighters used a fire boat to get to the fire, Renihan said, and they extinguished it within about a half-hour. The scene was clear by 1:30 p.m.
The boat is likely a “total loss,” he said, noting that the marina, however, didn’t sustain any damage.
The investigation into the fire is ongoing.
