A person was taken to an area hospital for treatment of burns and inhalations after a boat caught fire at a marina, authorities said.
Just after 2 p.m., fire dispatchers received a call reporting of flames coming from a boat at Cruiser Haven Marina, 7000 Orwood Road, with other boats and a dock at risk of catching fire, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District battalion chief Craig Auzenne said.
Seven East Contra Costa firefighters responded aboard two engines and water trucks, and arrived to find several people at the marina trying to put the fire out.
Firefighters were able to pull a water line down a dock, as well as call an ambulance for an injured person and additional ambulances for triage of other patients.
The boat was a loss, and there was no estimate of damages or cause immediately available Wednesday evening, Auzenne said.
