Chicago firefighters doused a small electrical fire on a boat off Navy Pier on Wednesday night.
The situation was quickly resolved and no one was hurt, a Fire Department battalion chief on the scene said.
The minor electrical fire began around 7:15 p.m. on a boat about 550 feet off the south side of Navy Pier, according to the department.
On a day when the tourist attraction was packed with people, three Fire Department SUVs responded to the farthest edge of the pier, and a department boat equipped for pumping water navigated to the southern side of the pier.
The stricken boat was towed away after its passengers were moved to another vessel, the department said.
