They said a boat with a four person crew caught on fire while the crew was refueling causing a small explosion. One person was burned on their face and transported to the hospital. The crew was able to put out the fire on their own with a fire extinguisher and a hose which Fire Chief Alex Baird said could have saved their life.
"Anyone that has a boat needs to think about that type of thing, safety precautions they need on their boats. Not just the vest but in case of fires too," said Chief Baird.
The fire investigator checked to make sure the boat had no more ignition sources that were dangerous.
